Blessing from Pope Francis

Our President Tito Echevarria used to visit a local convalescence home several times a month. Another volunteer at the home planned to visit the Vatican with the Legion of Mary. She asked Tito for prayer requests.

Tito wrote a request asking for prayers to support Compassion Ministry Silicon Valley.

At the Vatican, the prayer requests were placed around a table, with the requests appearing face up. The visitors expected a priest to come and bless the requests. To their surprise, Pope Francis stepped into the room.

Pope Francis noticed Tito's request and asked about it. Tito's friend described our work. The Pope said that more people should be involved in ministries like this one.

Pope Francis then blessed the prayer requests.

Update -- several months later: One of our clients in hospice had a visitation with the Pope. Our client gave an update to Pope Francis on Compassion Ministry Silicon Valley.
